INKWELL WINES BECOME FIRST REGENERATIVE ORGANIC CERTIFIED VINEYARD
Inkwell Wines have become the first vineyard property in Australia to be awarded the Regenerative Organic Certified® (ROC) designation.
McLaren Vale based vineyard and winery Inkwell Wines have become Australia's first Regenerative Organic Certified® vineyard and one the first twenty vineyards to receive this certification globally, as certified by the Regenerative Organic Alliance™ (ROA).
Founded in 2004, Inkwell’s owners Dr. Irina Santiago-Brown and her husband Dudley Brown have transformed the site of a former sand mine into a world class regenerative, organic and sustainable vineyard property. The 16-hectare vineyard and winery property, also home to a 20-shipping container luxury micro-hotel, cellar door and office building, is supported by renewable energy and reclaimed water for irrigation. Inkwell has realised significant evidence-based soil carbon sequestration as well as improved soil and plant health as a result its regenerative practices.

Dudley Brown added “We’ve found regenerative farming healthier, less expensive over time and more fun than conventional or organic approaches. Having studied and applied sustainable viticultural practices since 2008, we’ve found that organically improving soil health is the most successful pathway for sequestering carbon and achieving truly sustainable outcomes. Only the ROC® standard puts these priorities first.”
Inkwell Wines' Wine Tasting Rooms, open Tuesday–Sunday from 12pm–5pm, boast expansive views across their Regenerative Organic Certified® vineyard, with the rooftop viewing deck offering views from Mount Lofty to the tip of the Fleurieu Peninsula.
