Webinar - The Distinctive and Diverse Varieties of McLaren Vale

McLaren Vale Grape Wine & Tourism Association in conjunction with Wine Australia is pleased to present the ‘Distinctive and Diverse Varieties of McLaren Vale' webinar on Wednesday November 17th.

While the main varieties found in the region are Australian stalwarts such as Shiraz, Cabernet Sauvignon, Grenache, and Chardonnay, McLaren Vale’s temperate climate and proximity to the ocean makes it perfect for grape varieties more commonly found along the Mediterranean basin.

The webinar will be hosted by Madeleine Stenwreth MW, and she will be joined by Malcolm Leask (Co-Founder, Hither & Yon), Melissa Brown (Co-Founder & Viticulturalist, Gemtree Wines) and Skye Salter (Winemaker, Willunga 100) as they bring the region to life and explore some of the lesser-known but hugely important grape varieties that thrive in McLaren Vale.

Featured wines:

  • Chalk Hill Vermentino 2021
  • Gemtree Wines Marsanne 2020
  • Willunga 100 Tempranillo 2020
  • Coriole Sangiovese 2020
  • Hither & Yon Nero d’Avola 2020
  • Kangarilla Road Primitivo 2018
