Shottesbrooke DOUBLE FINALIST at the Prestigious SA Tourism Awards

Shottesbrooke Vineyards, McLaren Vale has achieved two Finalist titles in the prestigious 2021 SA Tourism Awards program, announced late on Wednesday evening 22 September 2021.

The business was successful with both of their two submissions - for Shottesbrooke Vineyards and their on-site restaurant, The Currant Shed.

The significant achievement follows the fast-growing winery also being awarded Winery of the Year at the USA Wine Ratings show during August 2021, and achieving the prestigious TripAdvisor Traveller’s Choice Award for 2021 last week. The Traveller’s Choice Award places Shottesbrooke in the top 10% of global tourism businesses based on reviews, ratings and “saves” from millions of travellers across the globe.

Shottesbrooke Vineyards’ Review Pro Index Ranking is currently #1 in all tourism categories nationally and within the state. The business is #1 out of almost 1000 Nationally Accredited Tourism Businesses. The Review Pro Index Ranking takes into account a business’ online reviews via Facebook, Google, TripAdvisor and other SEO searches and is a testament to Shottesbrooke’s standard of service.

In their submission, Shottesbrooke capitalised on their valuable point of difference to other businesses in the region, with the winery located on an estate which is also home to The Currant Shed restaurant and McLaren Vale Getaways accommodation. The three-pronged business model has enabled the business a unique “Drink, Dine and Stay” offering, amongst other distinctive experiences.

The Currant Shed’s submission contained a strong garden-to-plate philosophy, a tangible alignment with the region and exceptional food and service standards that are second to none.

Managing Director and Chief Winemaker Hamish Maguire said “I am proud to be flying the flag for McLaren Vale and South Australia. I get a lot of joy out of harnessing the best of the rich environment that we’re so lucky to have, in a variety of ways.”

About 130 tourism businesses from across the state have been announced as Finalists in the 2021 South Australian Tourism Awards program.

This year the Tourism Award selection criteria has focused on outstanding success and resilience that tourism operators displayed in response to challenges endured from the Covid-19 pandemic.

The winners in 25 categories will be revealed at a gala dinner on Thursday, November 4 at Adelaide Oval. These winners will then go on to represent South Australia at the 2021 Qantas Australian Tourism Awards on the Sunshine Coast in March 2022.
